I've been off BlueSky for a long time, but it's time to reengage with this great community. So, I thought I’d introduce myself again and tell you a few things about me. I have an exciting new career direction as an author AND a book coach! #middlegrade #booksky #writersofbluesky #writingcommunity
I think this is my favorite genre to write for kids. We cannot afford for kids to lose hope!

If Stephen King thinks staring at a blank page is scary...do those of us writing kidlit even have a chance???😂

The same can be said about writing a book! All it takes is one word on a blank page to start you on your way. 📖

If you’d like support on your journey, consider a book coach. Hey, that’s ME! Please DM me for more information or to book a discovery call.

I'm looking for a client for my 1st practicum in my Author Accelerator book coaching program where I coach someone who is early on in their project through a 14-question “Blueprint for a Book”, created by Jennie Nash. Here is Jennie talking about the blueprint: lnkd.in/gydiPPG8 DM me if interested!

No one said or did this better than Andrea Gibson. Remember, creation is resistance!

*This is in honor of Pyewacket, our sweet, 15-yr old kitty who died last week. We miss you so much Pye!

Katherine Applegate does it again! In her 2022 book-in-verse, “Odder”, she manages to anthropomorphize otters while still maintaining their inherent “otterness.” 5 out of 5 paws!

Bookstores are the best-smelling, most magical places on Earth! Don’t you agree?

I get this question a lot when people ask me what I write. Middle grade is my 🧁sweet spot🧁 both as an author and a book coach! (though YA is my 2nd favorite)

Contact me if you'd like more information on The Creative Catalyst so we can set up a free Discovery call. You can write that book!

And Margaret Atwood would know! Writers wield so much power. They only choose the words they WANT you to read, and those words can change the world. Might I even say, that's the "Powers" of Words? 😆 😆 😆

In addition to writing my #middlegrade sci-fi #climatefiction novel, I am working to become an Author Accelerator certified book coach. Many of you may be asking, “Is that even a thing?”
Yes! Book coaches provide mentoring that agents and editors no longer have the time to provide. Stay tuned!

Every Sunday, I want to post a writing prompt for the #writersofbluesky, maybe skewing a bit toward my favorite genre #middlegrade. This one is the first line from Rick Riordan's "The Last Olympian." #kidlit #amwriting

Happy Writing!

2013’s “The Last Wild” by Piers Torday is a great climate fiction book for kids that doesn’t pull its punches, but it has a message of hope. It answers the question, what if there you thought there were no more animals in the world (but that wasn’t true and it was up to you to save them)? 4/5 paws 😆

At this juncture I’d like to point out:
* we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing
* there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world
* a united approach could stop the climate crisis
But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

Removing a black 4-star general at Secretary of Defense and replacing him with a white talk-show is the perfect example why DEI is essential. It's not about hiring unqualified minorities, it’s about foiling the majority's habit of hooking up under qualified mediocrities of their own caste.

This is the most ridiculous statement from the White House!
BREAKING: The bleach guy is now their “science president”

Trump fired scientists, gutted health agencies, & let disease spread

His Earth Day statement is a slap in the face to science & truth

This isn’t leadership—it’s biological terrorism. Don’t forgive. Don’t forget.
