I forgot a couple!
I think everyone (vaguely) knows the lyrics to "Het Dorp" by Wim Sonneveld.
Guus Meeuwis is iconic, "Kedeng Kedeng" or "Het is een nacht".
Marco Borsato, until recently cancelled and now in cancel limbo, was a really big deal too ("Dromen zijn bedrog", "Rood")

I feel the need to point out that this list leaves out a LOT of very famous Dutch artists who sing in English, rather than Dutch. I would guess it's about 50/50 English and Dutch?

"Oceaan" by Racoon was also a huge hit.

Someone else already suggested Nederhop, some essentials are "Watskeburt" by Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, "Dansplaat" by Brainpower and "Ik neem je mee" Gers Pardoel.

...i noticed there are zero women in this list so, bonus: "Brandend Zand" by Anneke Grönloh

I've also been endlessly tormented by "Toppertje!" by Tropical Danny and "Rosanne" by Nick en Simon (Nick en Simon have more essential hits, as does Jan Smit).
I personally like Acda en de Munnik and Bløf, so I'll throw in "Niet of nooit geweest" (aedm) and "Aan de kust" (bløf).

Gotcha! Things that come to mind:
The hits by Andre Hazes, like "Zij gelooft in mij", "De Vlieger", "Bloed Zweet en tranen" etc
Ramses Shaffy also has some essentials, esp. "Zing, vecht, huil, bid..." and "Sammy"
For my generation, party hits like "Waterscooter" or "Boten Anna" by De Gebroeders Ko

Dutch here, 90s/00s kid. Absolute staple of my early childhood was K3 (albums Alle Kleuren and Tele-Romeo). Also a childhood staple are various versions of Annie MG Schmidt's rhymes set to music (Stekelvarkentjes Wiegelied, Mijn moeder is vroeger een kat geweest). And Kinderen voor Kinderen songs.

OMG SAME i thought they were going to sew hats and then it took a hard left into PAIN and BODY HORROR (the writing (hah) was on the wall from chapter one but boy i was not prepared for *that scene* with the prisoner)

Moral of the story: don't trust guys who insist that expert skills and knowledge are useless to everyday people. Because apparently that leads to "common sensing" how soap works.

Spoilers: soap's not a generally useless product which main function is to make you rub your hands together when washing them with water.

Soap serves to encapsulate dirt and grime and lift it aways from your hands. Plus it kills bacteria and (some) viruses.
