(oh and pointless disclaimer #2, i'm not saying this to like disown my past jam VNs or anything 😭 there's lots i like in them even if i wasn't always able to take polish as far as i'd really want, and many collaborators did stuff for them that i couldn't be happier with)

to me, it feels kind of like an unavoidable conclusion that broadly speaking, familial relations teach us a lot about what men, women, and the affairs between them are like and that the cultural repulsion-fascination around incest broadly reflects this fact. like, sorry but something is going on

tl;dr good stuff coming, i'm reorienting my process towards making even better stuff i can really be proud of for you, the girl reading this

(oh and clarification: writing in two languages is obviously a big part of it. i could *maybe* make a very good 10k story in a month, but editing and translating it myself pushes things close to "literally impossible" territory, and i'm not the fastest or the most efficient writer to begin with)

(this realization in part prompted by the fact i'm carefully liking a draft i'm working on right now, and it has taken 3-4 rounds of revisions with healthy breaks inbetween to get there. it's hard not to feel more and more like this is the amount of care & effort i really owe to readers in general)

at this point i'm more interested in pushing my craft further than scambling to put out as much stuff as i can. you'll have to wait a bit until my next release, but it'll be more polished and thoughtfully constructed than what you'd get otherwise!

one month is almost nothing to produce a finished piece of writing in the sense that (at least for me) the cycle of letting a draft sit and then revising is a crucial part of the process. if i can do 5 editing rounds and feel like i'm making meaningful improvements, then i'd rather do them.

personally, the only critic whose takes about new releases i trust is The Movie Shitter, a voice who appears in my mind when i don't sleep for a few days
