Color perception is a dynamic, personal experience not captured by any color wheel or color chart

1) 20% of men are red/green color deficient.

2) the surrounding color can change the perceived color of the center

3) if you stare at something, within seconds the color contrast will be reduced

A must-read about how to deal with online trolls.
Online trolls are expert at two things: manipulating your perception of reality and hijacking your attention. If you know how your brain works, Arthur C. Brooks writes, you can defend yourself better against the cyberbullies.
The Ultimate Antidote to Toxic Behavior Online
Changing your perception and withholding your attention are great ways of regaining control over online abuse.

Anyone else see that Cybertruck stuck in the snow while the Honda Fit drives right past it? Pretty much sums up America vs rest of the world.

Over a decade of covering Syria and one lesson I’ve learned and humbly commend to all is this: Westerners need to know when to shut the fuck up and let Syrians figure things out for themselves.

My son worked for a company that replaced its human tutors with an AI. I have to believe that many of the students being tutored are using AI to generate their essays.

We now have the absurd situation of AI grading AI and we have eliminated the need for students in education

Very efficient

I don't think Ben Taub is on here but his New Yorker piece on The Assad Files will always stick with me. (And horray, for the ability to easily post links to deeply reported journalism!)

it's a bad day for the international network of dictators who live in similar palaces
🇸🇾👀 Syrian rebels have entered Assad's palace in Damascus. What Russia has been building in this country for almost 10 years has been destroyed.

‼️ This morning, the rebels announced the beginning of a new era. People in Syria are celebrating in the streets.

Well gang,

Looks like we have to fight, and defeat, a compilation of history’s greatest evils all at once. Civil War, WW2, the Cold War, greed, racism, sexism, ignorance, fascism…hell is empty and all the demons are here.

Let’s fucking go.
