we literally have SO MUCH EVIDENCE of people always loving their pets haha

I've really enjoyed a lot of miniminuteman's videos because he's always reminding his viewers that ancient people were like us! and that people who think they needed aliens to do everything for them are super misguided :^)

At least here in the US people are taught to view ancient/older cultures as 'other' in so many ways that we forget ancient people were just like us. We have always cared about art, flavor, humor, technology, each other, and understanding the world on a deeper level

Overall I wasn't super excited by the trailer/clips I saw but decided to give it a shot on a whim and ended up enjoying it way more than I expected haha

(Which may change later in the season as we see more threats emerge) I think the showrunners really enjoy and excel at worldbuilding bc they've been able to hint at a lot of pretty intricate ideas in just a few episodes, so I'm excited to see where they take it!

It seems like they're trying to balance both the positives and negatives of this new setting-the ways it's thriving as well as the problems that their society, history, and belief systems bring up. The trailer focused more on the big action packed setpieces but so far we've seen more day-to-day life

Yeah I'm usually not a huge fan of post-apocalyptic media either, it can feel really bleak, but overall from what I've seen it seems like the haven we're exploring is a more socially aware commune than a post-apocalyptic hellscape, which I really appreciate.
