It's still in development and leaves a lot to be desired but the more people play with it and give feed back the more we'll see improvement.

I'm curious if we'll see any migration to Mercury vs VARA? Right now it's few and far between using it, but as an open source, platform agnostic parallel to VARA there is some potential I suppose.

VARA is still a challenge here with my Mint system. I have it workable on a Pi. Now Winlink, I'm using Pat for WL2K though minus VARA on HF that's rough though it's FB on Packet. Still working on this too dl2man.de/ARDOP/

I questioned frequency stability as well with mine. I've modded a Quansheng UV-K5 recently to get back to all mode 2m operations but still need to do physical changes, just did firmware so far. SSTV and CW on FM and keyer work well.

2m all mode right? I had one back in the late 90's and it seemed to operate well but there was little to no non-FM 2m operations around me so I sold it for lack of use. Many years later I'd love the chance to do 2m CW again.
