I finally got my MGS Master Collection Vol.2 and oh my god I'm already in love, the menus look so good!

Kingdom Hearts is genuinely one of the coolest things ever and everyone lowkey owes it to themselves to get in on it.

One of the best things about Metal Gear Solid being kind of active again (the collections, Delta, and crossovers) is seeing young people discover the games, become new fans, and share discussions, art, memes, and shitposts.
It warms my heart to see this series still be so loved.

Also played Toy Story 2 (PS1) a while ago. Another excellent platformer, especially for a movie tie-in.
Controls very comfortably and has mostly great level design built around ordinary environments with a fantastic sense of scale. A few annoying levels, but a very fun time.

Played SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom (GC) for the first time. I get the love for it, it punches way above its weight for a licensed platformer.
It's really just excellent all around, one of the genre's best and a joy to play.

Started playing Ty the Tasmanian Tiger (PS2) last night: weirdly, it gives me a kind of... nationality euphoria?
Hearing Aussie accents and slang from characters based on our native wildlife in levels themed after local terrain is lovely - even if it's often laid on a bit thick.

First time 100%'ing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and it was wonderful! Sorely underrated and underplayed.
An excellent follow-up to MGS3+4, feels more fleshed out and content-rich in some ways than MGSV, despite the limits of the PSP.
My best soldier was named Bunting.

I love how Solid Snake gets up by presenting his entire asshole to the sky

Recently played RetroAchievements' new Find the Pixel event for Pokémon Emerald with friends!
I was surprised just how many locations I recognized instantly - the ocean spots were pretty tough though.
Such a fun way to revisit Hoenn: a delightful and thorough tour of the region!

Finally finished Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly a few months ago. I always try to see the best in games, but even with its troubled development, it's such a fundamental step back from the PS1 trilogy that I don't think more dev time could've saved it. Worst final boss I've played.

replaying Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for RetroAchievements and man, I absolutely adore almost everything about this game, but my goodness - did there really need to be FORTY-THREE vehicle battles!?
that's about a third of all of the extra ops! there's just way too many! 🤯

Replayed Spyro 2/3 (PS1) a while back: they're pretty great fun, and they do a good job following up on the original!

...though, I think I'll always prefer Spyro 1 for its greater focus on platforming and true collect-a-thon structure, as well as the more fantastical vibes.

don't you dare try and check me on my Metal Gear Solid knowledge, skill, dedication, or fandom, until you've beaten Boss Survival in Twin Snakes on Hard, absolutely one of the hardest challenges in the series, no question

I never agreed with mocking this sentiment. Not because “game hard,” but because mainline SMT and Souls share the same philosophy: go in blind, get destroyed, learn enemy moves/weaknesses, adapt your strategy, and try again. They demand engagement with mechanics over brute force.

doing a Big Boss run in MGS: The Twin Snakes - I'd love to see into the minds of those at Silicon Knights responsible for the Hind D boss to learn why central mechanics (corner view, rotor sound, visibility, the entire 2nd phase) simply do not work when they did just fine in MGS1

pretty proud of the Snake mii (and Metal Gear Mk.II pet) I made in Tomodachi today

I haven't really played Dead by Daylight much at all since last year and I've recently found the idea of getting back on to be actively offputting for me

BUT

rest assured, if by a snowflake's chance in hell they add a Metal Gear Solid collab, I will be there minute one!!!

Update: I finished Survive, it's pretty good! All who say they love MGSV's gameplay should at least give it a decent shot. It's nowhere near as story-heavy as any other Metal Gear and fanservice is lacking outside of events, but it's a fun time, especially playing co-op!

I can't believe Rainbow Six Siege of all things has the most accurate Solid Snake in a Metal Gear crossover to date: not just the MGS2 suit, but the MGS1 suit as well, and no Big Boss beard on either!
February 16, 2026 at 1:22 AM
Finally started Metal Gear Survive... and I actually like it so far? The writing seems kind of so-so and it of course lacks the usual MGS sauce, but I'm enjoying the gameplay a lot for what it is. It's circumstances aside, this MGS-themed survival game is kind of a neat novelty!

RGG seems to want to speedrun tanking all the goodwill towards them lately, why?
Base game features locked behind DLC recent games, insisting on keeping a sex pest in the YK3 cast, and now the needless delisting / price-hike of the Y3 remaster... some way to "express gratitude"!
Yakuza 3 Remastered will only be available as part of Yakuza Complete Series bundle ($129) when Kiwami 3 releases.

Y3 Remastered available for $19.99:
