I stan for Fedora all day, but it is because it just works. It does the things you want a computer to do, it is stable, it is fairly secure OOTB, but you still get updates on a reasonable timescale, and you have a ton of install options. Also, dnf is pretty great.

Are you ok using the web app? There is no native Linux version, so if you want it to run, you will almost certainly have to do some extra work.

If you are ok with using the web app, I suggest Fedora (default privacy/security is solid, fairly beginner friendly) or Mint (the new person distro).

Fedora Workstation, it isn't flashy but it does just work while also being up to date.

NTSYNC is probably the big one for gaming.

I don't think people realize how much big tech relies on open source software, funding it is in their interests in a lot of cases.

Well, it took longer than I had planned, but it works and looks cool. I spent way too much time with waybar, and honestly it is probably my favorite part of the experience. I can see myself writing a lot of unnecessary modules for it.

I second fedora. I don't want to think about my OS ever, I just want it to work, and fedora does that. I stick with GNOME though, I'm not particularly interested in ricing though.

People act like every install is a herculean task.

Going from GNOME --> Hyprland was maybe a bit much, but otherwise the installer worked well.

I've never had it happen to me, but I've heard horror stories about windows getting angry about dual booting. Make sure you have backups of everything you care about.
