Éireannach is mise living in Scotland. Stunned how Scots knocked back the opportunity of self government when they should have seized the chance.
Rest in peace Dolly Parton.

"It has become virtually impossible for ethnic minorities and political dissidents fleeing persecution in Iran to find safety in the United States, despite Trump’s strident criticism of the Iranian government’s human-rights record."
A long but disturbing read.

"Hello! Fear and anger over asylum seekers has sparked fresh unrest, this time in Norfolk." was the opening line tonight on #bbcnewsnight.
A mild and harmless description of blatant right wing, violent racism by fascists. It's so good to witness that lovely bbc "unbiasedness".

Laila Cunningham clearly has never heard of the phrase about throwing away the shovel instead of digging a deeper hole as she interrupts, talks over and throws accusations at others on @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social

I was quite taken by how well USA are doing in the world cup given football is not their thing, but not any more thanks to your man.

Just when you think they can't get any more ridiculous...

BBC News Clive Myrie doing a decent Belfast piece on the racist riots there until he chats to Mr. Bryson who represents nobody and had fuck all of note to say. The women in the shop were just more insightful and asked Clive how he felt going around areas where people of colour were threatened.

Yet again @bbcqt manages to open the death of a young man to politicisation despite his family's request to not do so.
June 4, 2026 at 10:13 PM
BBC News constantly highlighting Ferage politicising a young man's death when the family specifically asked for this not to happen. BBC still giving him publicity.

Please, get out and vote on May 7th. It's important that the turnout is high. Vote as you wish, but make sure you do it.

Good to see @rachelblakemp.bsky.social taking no lectures from Jacob Rees-Mogg on @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social tonight. She was really good.

@carolinelucas.bsky.social is head and shoulders the most credible panel member on #bbcqt tonight. The arrogance of the minnows around her is simply staggering.

I see Richard N Hass is advertising his book while he comments on #Newsnight about the war in the middle east. Some people just take any opportunity, tasteless or otherwise to make a personal gain. Fucks sake!!

Coronation street storyline has a young boy tell people a femaleteacher is grooming another child. The adults believe him which is exactly the right message to give. Well done to the script writers on this one. The victim however refuses to see himself as such.

"The U.S. military is considered the most combat-experienced in the world. Since 1945, it has been in a state of nearly continuous conflict somewhere on the globe. This has created a highly developed logistical and tactical "muscle memory" for fighting far from home."

Quote from my 6 years old grandson.
"I was so angry I could have broken the biggest stone".
I was definitely impressed, especially with the imagery.

"Israel is committing war crimes before our eyes. Their government talks the language of ethnic cleansing and I have met with our own medics out there who describe the most chilling and distressing scenes of calculated brutality against women and children."

By calling for Starmer's resignation, Sawar exposes
1) Westminster PLP will not countenance "interference" from Scotland.
2) Elected Scottish MPS are answerable to Westminster, not Scotland(Sawar).
3) SLP's irrelevance within Labour UK and
4)Scotland's irrelevance in UK. Politics.

Conversely enough, Trump's lying gobshitery of a speech at Davos does make compelling viewing. I'm riveted wondering what more shite can he possibly come out with.

Should Trump hang up the peace prize given to him by Machado, it will only serve as a constant reminder of something he was never awarded, an honour he will never legitimately receive. A sign of his failure.
The irony however is that he may very well not know it.

Well done Kemi Badenoch for getting rid of Robert Jenrick whose views and actions were becoming more extreme over time. His poisonous lies about "no white faces", demonising migrants and their children, corrupt expenses claims on 2nd homes etc. No loss.

I see Trump is encouraging Iranians to rise up and he'll help them. George Bush said something similar to Iraqis after the first gulf war. It ended with Sadam viciously crushing the rebellion with absolutely no help from America.
What's different now
