The Book of Alien by Paul Scanlon and Michael Gross (1979). When I spotted this on the new releases shelf in my local scifi & fantasy bookshop in 1979 I thought the heavens had opened and couldn’t have slammed down my hard earned newspaper delivery money any faster for a copy.

What are The Dark Vagaries, really?
Short answer: a shared universe of standalone novels about vampires, personal horror, and political machinations that span millennia. For fans of VtM, gritty interpersonal drama, and more lore than you can shake a stake at.
