Advocating for LGBTQ+ youth and adults on a state level.

Our vision is a Nebraska where LGBTQ+ youth feel empowered, celebrated, and embraced for who they are.
DO NOT SIGN the “fairness for girls” petition!!!
Paid petitioners are everywhere right now trying to get people to sign.
This petition will do several things:
- to amend discrimination into our state constitution
- to erase trans people from daily life
- to increase conservative voter turnout

In honor of Transgender Day of Visibility, we reserved a space at the capitol for an educational display.
Transgender people deserve the same access to the good life that every other Nebraskan has, and should not have to hear these relentless attacks that are both unfair and unwarranted.

We can stop bad legislation in our state if we work together!

We are excited to announce that as part of our voting initiative this year, we will be providing comprehensive information on each contested legislative district in Nebraska!
March 10, 2026 at 6:57 PM
Because apparently passing LB89 last year wasn’t enough, now they want to get this on the ballot to amend the state constitution.

This is another distraction and an attempt to increase conservative voter turnout.

Speak out about this ballot initiative and tell people NOT to sign!

Trans peoples rights are not a bargaining chip.
They are not an acceptable sacrifice for political expediency.

Queer Kansans are our neighbors, our brothers, and our sisters.

We stand in solidarity with our transgender families across Kansas and are committed to supporting them with resources and assistance as needed.

Rainbow Parents of Nebraska is so proud to announce our endorsement of Dr. Erin Feichtinger for legislative district 8!
Erin has consistently shown up to the Capitol to support rainbow parents and families throughout the state.

There is no one more prepared to serve as a Senator for ALL Nebraskans!

No matter what issue you are passionate about, if you want to become an effective advocate, it can be intimidating figuring out where to start.
Here are some very simplified ways you can get started.

We also offer Legislature 101 seminars for your small group to help you get started.

We are working hard to get a calendar for events on our website.
In the meantime, here are two events coming up this week and two to save the date for in March.

These are Omaha area events, but if you are availble and close by, please take the time to meet all the possible candidates that you can.

Another UPDATE:

LB730 has advanced out of committee and we could see the possibility of floor debate.

Please do NOT call your senator at this time.
We want as little attention as possible given to this bill.

LB730 would ban people from using the bathroom that aligns with their gender identity.

LB732 has advanced out of committee and we could see the possibility of floor debate.

Please do NOT call your senator at this time.
We want as little attention as possible given to this bill.

We will let you know if and when that time comes, but we ask you to be prepared.

Thank you @ericmoyer4congress.bsky.social for standing up for the Queer community!
February 14, 2026 at 10:57 PM
Even though goods and services cost the same for everyone, Jane Raybould and 32 other senators passed a bill this morning to lower the minimum wage for those under 18.

If you live in the district of one of the highlighted senators, make sure they hear from you and VOTE THEM OUT this year!

We are so proud of everyone who came to testify in person this week!
We are also grateful to all who submitted online comments!

It was a tough two days, but we came together in community and proved by our presence that we are more powerful than any bills could ever be!

Rainbow Parents of Nebraska are disappointed that Senator Kauth has, once again, chosen to scapegoat a vulnerable population with discriminatory, harmful and unnecessary.
Hearings for these bills could be as early as January 20th so please be prepared to join us.
