It's supposed to be, "If you let us build this facility we want, we'll build things like roads, trains, schools, hospitals, etc." That's how politics are supposed to work, but politicians got away with, "This will be good for the economy," for so long that now tangible promises look like bribes.

That's what he always does for any scandal, but for "the" Russia scandal his real strategy was relying on the Supreme Court to run out the clock for him and hope he got elected president again so he could kill the investigations.

I can't think of a great example, but imagine if they discovered that curling into a ball and doing flips gave you more distance, and the longer you spun the longer your jump. Jumpers would take more and more risks trying to hold the ball shape and some might not make a safe landing.

Indeed, and I think the Tory and GOP women actually believe in that project. They also see the amount of money being poured into the conservative project and think of they make bank they won't have to worry about the patriarchy.

Yeah, but for individual women and people of color who are willing to fight for the patriarchy and the rights of the upper class they'll take the token representation. It's a very thin line they have to walk before the right turns on them.

I honestly haven't bothered to stack up potential 2028 candidates in order from worst to least worst, just threw a few in the "please god no" bin. Kamala going away for a while had probably softened me on her too much but it's a while before I have to make a choice.

Considering that most people seem to view Gavin Newsome as the top Democratic candidate of the moment I'm honestly fine with Kamala checking in. There are way worse options and hard to find any good ones, but there is a long way to go.
