What the US has allowed to happen to itself this past decade will be written about for decades. Maybe centuries. Like Egypt, Greece, Roman empires , nothing lasts forever. Seeing it happen in real time,not enough people see the inevitable outcome. I won't live to see what replaces the collapse.

For those saying we are spending too much on space exploration rockets, consider the benefits. Granted, one rocket is costing billions. But with long-term goals that are positive. Meanwhile, humans are spending billions on hundreds of smaller rockets intended only to kill and destroy each other.
