I build scale models, rarely finish them
So do I. It is the 40th anniversary of Top Gun after all 😉

It’s a slight learning curve, so find a combination of paint/thinner that works for you. The splatter stencils I used where made by 77Propeller, they’re very nice and flexible so they can easily conform to a surface

Thank you! I was going to start off with a F-5 Tiger II, but my cat tipped over one bottle, which ofc was my bottle of TET.

The F-5 is still salvageable, but I wanted to do something else to get my mojo back up.

Started this kit on the 6th of January, so definitely my fastest completion to date

Actually had to go to two stores to find the tændstikker, I saw people using small everyday items to convey the size of the kit. But I haven’t seen any one use Tordenkjold before

I’m very pleased with how the kit came out, and fewer fuck ups then last kit, so I must be doing something right 😁

Thank you! I used MRP thinned with Mr Leveling thinner for a base marbling layer, then splatter stencils on top with brown, and MRP+MLT again for building up the top layers

Overall a nice kit with very few issues. The only problem of note is the odd choice to have a late aft section, but an early ejection seat. That’s why I ripped a correct ejection seat from one of my kits.

These red bands weren’t standard and painted on by hand just days or hours before the invasion. In this regard they similar to D-Day invasion stripes seen on Allied aircraft in June 1944.

To visually differentiate the Soviets own equipment from the Czechoslovak equipment, the Soviets painted red bands on their aircraft and white stripes on their tanks, to prevent fratricide.

At first I wanted to do removable panels, iydk the bronco kit has an engine with plumbing and coolers, but the way they did the top engine panels and machine guns im afraid that making the panels removable would be hard to do. So I’m probably gonna make the side panels removable if possible
