🇺🇸 Mayday
2026 (Apple)
This was fun! Classic 80’s style buddy travel flick. Ryan Reynolds was funny & likeable, Kenneth Branagh was excellent as a Russian ex-KGB agent. Laughs & heart. Movie theater blockbuster quality on my TV.

🇺🇸 Remarkably Bright Creatures
🇯🇵 親愛なる八本脚の友だち

Sally Field is a real pleasure to watch! Lewis Pullman (son of Bill Pullman) was likeable as well. The whole octopus thing felt a little forced but I enjoyed the movie as a whole.

I started a new game!
Pacific Drive (2024) [PS5]
I assumed this was a game like Road 96, but it’s a survival game. Having to remember little things like putting my car in park & turning off the engine really floats my boat. No, really! Looting endless cars for scrap is a bit tiresome but seems fun!

The story is fine, it’s generally too easy & the levels start to feel the same after a while, but I enjoyed role-playing as Robocop & the action is fun.

🇺🇸 Widow’s Bay (2026) [Apple]
Despite reading scary books & comics, I really dislike horror. However, I love how every episode is a different story & I love Matthew Rhys. I liked a lot of the ideas but the “horror fans will get a kick out of this” scenes were a miss for me.

Robocop: Rogue City (2023) [PS5]
I’ve heard it’s mediocre but as a Robo fan I still felt drawn to it! Definitely nails the tone & I’m pleased to see the original characters. Felt like an arcade shooter at first but open world side-missions are adding some flavor. I’m liking it!

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut (PS5)
⏱️ 110h
🟢 I love planning what to do next in open world games & the gameplay scratches that itch big time
🟢 Norman Reedus is great
🔴 Many interesting ideas but honestly the story was kind of bad?
🔴 No music while traveling?

I’ve always liked Jake Johnson & Mary Steenburgen and they were a great pair in this. I didn’t know Aaron Chen but he was really funny too. Exactly what I was looking for in a comedy! Would definitely recommend.

🇺🇸 Batman: Caped Crusader S2
(2026) [Amazon]
This series loves to make bold changes: a Riddler that doesn’t do riddles, a Joker that doesn’t laugh. Love the Dick Tracy gangland vibes but the violence can be a bit much. I don’t love everything but I hope we get 10 more seasons

🇺🇸 Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Went in blind & I was surprised & pleased with the cast of characters. Darker & more emotional but really well-done! Happy to be away from multiverse. I saw it in “ScreenX” which is like IMAX but really wide? Kinda gave me a headache.

🇺🇸 The Fugitive
🇯🇵 逃亡者
1993 (U-NEXT)
There’s some ridiculous parts like super low helicopter chases & Tommy Lee Jones dressing like a hobo, but it’s a fun watch. If only Richard was more polite to the cops, maybe someone would have spent 10 mins investigating one-armed men.

🇺🇸 Beef S2
(2026) [Netflix]
I loved S1 & this season is mostly compelling. All the characters are scheming & two-faced which makes it a bit draining to watch. Also, the story is barely about a “beef” & the ending is so muddled & sloppy it makes you question the whole season.

🇬🇧 Kingsman: The Golden Circle
2017 (Amazon)
I watched this a few weeks ago & forgot to post it. It can reach almost embarrassing levels of manliness but it was fun to watch for the most part. I had no idea this is based on a comic book, which gives it a small zaniness pass.

Death Stranding update!
Well I’m 40 hours in, and honestly I was not loving it early on. The story feels like nonsense & there’s plenty of meaningless missions to sap your joie de vive early on. But more & more gets added & the mission grind just feels more & more rewarding. Kinda loving it now!

This season had some serious intrigue going on & felt like the best season yet for me (though to be fair I barely remember s1-s3). Marvin drama, Shubham’s revenge, Xanthi & Brett. I loved Raven, Chaz, Tom & Sam. No Spice Girls though 😞

I read a book!
🇺🇸 “The Dark Half”
Stephen King (1989)
The premise is so dumb (EARLY SPOILER: an author’s murder-happy character comes to life), but King makes it work (kind of). Felt a bit claustrophobic with the characters not leaving the house for the first half, but picks up steam towards the end.

I beat a game!
Life is Strange: Double Exposure (PS5)
⏱️ 13h
🟢 Compelling characters & plot twists
🟡 Decisive moments & dialog choices felt less impactful than previous games?
🟡 Campus felt a bit claustrophobic
🔴 Glitchy
💭 The story was interesting but I don’t love Max like I once did.
⭐️ Good (7/10)
