Budget 2026: Call for renewables and affordability
share.nwmd.social

Ottawa just released its national electricity strategy. But instead of going all in on renewables, it throws the door open for gas on the grid.

We’re flooding the consultation with calls to ditch fossil fuels for clean power. Will you join us? share.nwmd.social/s/5n8qzOrP

It was March 2007. Apple had just debuted the iPhone. The Iraq War was raging. Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth had won two Oscars. And the prime minister of Canada was talking about “the exciting new technology called carbon capture and storage.”

For 20 years, Canada’s leaders have promised a carbon capture fix | The Narwhal
It’s expensive and unproven at scale. From Stephen Harper to Mark Carney, Canadian politicians have made promises on carbon capture — yet to be delivered

Good morning with good news: China will increase renewable energy generation by 50% to 6 trillion kWh by 2030.

US generated a total of 4.43 trillion kWh in 2025.

RE will rise to ~46% in 2030.

Wind & solar will jump to 30% in 2030 from 22% in 2025.

This guy must have been exhausted from his migration north. He just sat there on my patio hoping I would not eat him. Ovenbirds fly 200-300km each night during their migration. They rest during the day and regain their energy to do it all again the next night.

It instantly went viral. People watched it over and over again.

It still offers the power to shock a decade on.

Renewables are now 53% cheaper than nuclear for total system cost - not just generation cost.
Each year nuclear adds only as much net global power capacity as renewables add every two days.

I hear so many people who claim that this is not possible. Glad to share proof to the contrary.
31 consecutive days where domestic wind and solar generation covered 100 percent of national electricity demand with zero fossil fuel input at any hour of any day.

Danish grid operator Energinet confirmed it.
