RC/W is a seven-year research program committed to expanding possibilities for policies, practices, and meanings of care/work for diverse families in Canada.
Still, families are saving hundreds of sometimes thousands of dollars each month. The report finds jurisdictions with set fees generally deliver lower, more predictable costs. To build on that success, expanded spaces, better working conditions & long-term funding are essential.

Cleveland does highlight the triumphs of the program so far: more than 900,00 children in licensed care, with significantly reduced fees compared to 2021. However, per Canada’s Auditor General, this constitutes fewer than half the spaces promised during the first five years of the program.
