New Yorkers should know whether the apartment they’re looking at is real.

That’s why we’re working to require apartment listings to clearly disclose when images and videos have been generated by AI.

Finding a home in New York is hard enough without artificially generating more problems.
Is That Fireplace Real or A.I.?
Listing sites are littered with homes with fake fireplaces, improved views and virtual landscaping, raising false advertising concerns.

Thanks CAAAV for inviting me to the Chinatown Tenants Union Summer Celebration today. It was great to join tenant leaders, workers, seniors, and especially young people who fought hard for the rent freeze.

A group of Detroit tenants is challenging the way evictions are handled in court, which they hope will improve housing conditions.

But landlords warn this approach could destabilize the city’s already fragile rental market.

They might both be right. The latest by @amondry.bsky.social:
Detroit tenant lawsuit seeks to block evictions in unsafe homes
The Detroit Tenants Union is suing to change how evictions are handled in court and force landlords to address unsafe housing.

@lilyericksonseltz.bsky.social reports that from Vermont to Texas to Michigan, student renters are building tenant unions and challenging universities and corporate landlords alike.

The response to Flock as the visible signifier of oppressive surveillance is….something. Someone should write a book about it.

Landlord, Michael E Heijer accidentally CCed the entire Seattle city council, asking fellow landlords to testify against rental junk fee banning. Said renters who testified in favor of banning junk fees were the “unemployed left trying to stick it to the man.”

Still think this isn’t a class war?

RFK Jr is the twilight zone gremlin tearing apart our public health care infrastructure and I’m grateful to the folks at @somemorenews.bsky.social to be given a space to vent about it.
Hi. On today's episode, @kavehmd.bsky.social joins the show to talk about Abdul El-Sayed's victory in Michigan's Democratic Senate primary, the GOP's inability to handle Muslim-sounding names, and RFJ Jr's virtually fact-free appearance on CNN.

New Hampshire has passed a no-fault eviction law, making it easier for landlords to evict tenants and harder for those tenants to defend themselves in court.
Written in Granite: New Hampshire passes no-fault eviction law
Granite Staters, are you paying attention? I’ll admit this one caught me by surprise, and it now appears to affect someone I know and care deeply about.
