It was great celebrating Pastor Hoskins and 37 years of faithful service to Fountain of Life Church.

I was there with Senator Mark Spreitzer, our Chief of Police, other community leaders, and members of the congregation to recognize Pastor Hoskins and the impact he has had on Beloit.

On this day in 1859, Abraham Lincoln was in Beloit.

Lincoln came to town after speaking at the Wisconsin State Fair in Milwaukee the day before.

His speech was originally supposed to be outside, but Wisconsin weather had other plans and pushed the event indoors.
