My point isn't that he's not. It's that the base was always Arteta's emphasis. We were solid first and the rest came later. This was Pep as well. Alonso has started in the mold of Ange, Chelsea Poch, etc. Will that change over time? Lets see. I think that's a sign of weakness, personally.

While true, his current emphasis has nothing to do with defense. This was Arteta in the PL with Arsenal at first, regarding defense. Alonso has done the opposite, which shows he has less of a handle on the newer, faster, more physical league.

For sure and I’m not denying it, but often a spike like this does come with the schedule you play against.

I think the issue with city was entire personnel based, and that is why I think it has absolutely zero impact on how we will play at the etihad.

Well written but a bit overdone. Games are played by personnel. No amount of grit and determination are overcoming an incapacity to play with your best players.

Doesn't the "few democrats" line here specifically create a higher likelihood that this was done by a right leaning extremist rather than anyone else? Especially given that the passing of both in a fifty/fifty state congress puts congress into a GOP majority. I get speculation is bad but...
