This kid of the working poor always felt out of place in grad school and academia. When I learned that some of my leisure class professors had become Marxists because of a grueling summer job in a factory, I laughed.

And imagine what the rest of us think when we watch Fox, NewsMax, and and OneAmericaNews. The latter media do not hurt my feelings, they shock my conscience.

It’s stunning to me how some people repeatedly use false equivalency to avoid answering the tough questions. The result is that the political right is amplifying and elevating an antisemitic voice that most people on the political left had never heard of.

Our only consolation to this bald faced lying is this: if they had worked productively, they likely would have enacted harmful anti-democratic legislation.

Those who blame “White Nationalism” and/or “Christian Nationalism” on the “woke left” are proving at least two points: 1) they are not well read in American history; 2) they do not have even a basic understanding of political psychology. Giving air time to superficial people is bewildering.

The true test in Texas is whether Talarico and Hinojosa have large enough margins to overcome a very well-established voter suppression system.
