Mors veritatis et integritatis
A fun remake (2005) that defines the 3rd Ys entry into a single game. The signature, shredding soundtrack is intact from the series origins & the combat is much improved from the bump system. A surprising amount of VA, most of which is very good. Beware some BS boss fights.

Balls (or should that be Orbs?) to Hades, Pyre for me has been Supergiant's best game. Interesting, multi-faceted characters, a richly developed world, sportsball with RPG elements & choices that really do matter. A genuine hidden gem. Glorious music, truly glorious.

A bit outside of my comfort zone this one, though pleasantly surprised by well written the story was. Decent voice acting accompanies a host of characters that are... sparsely animated, though not so much as to ruin the vibe. Game mechanics are fun, if a little dry by the end

Finally. Ninjas. ACS is a very polished game, with sublime combat & a beautifully realised version of Japan. Despite some shortfalls in story & character development, there's still a flair for the dramatic. Bordering on great, ACS feels like a game of unfulfilled potential

The DNA for Hades is right here. Transistor almost feels like an art-house project, with it's cyberpunk x art nouveau styling & abstract approach to providing details about what's going on in the world. Beautiful to look at, gorgeous music, clever combat. Cumbersome UI & short. Wonderful

Like a digital Steve Jackson Fighting Fantasy novel, but with RPG mechanics & decisions that matter. Emotional & thought provoking, Citizen Sleeper had me hooked with it's well written dialogues, detailed art & hauntingly beautiful music. A 'Sleeper' hit one might say!

Well it took long enough to get here, but it was well worth the wait! Is it a masterpiece? Not quite. Some peculiar control mechanic, skill & economy choices, along with some pacing issues mar what is otherwise a great game. Incredible soundtrack & even more beautiful art!
