Tory leadership contests only let highly controlled light in. That was one of their strengths.
Which realistic alternatives that are not duds and had a better plan for governance have been stifled here?
I’d love there to be one. But, sadly, there isn’t. That’s on us as a party, not on Burnham.

I’m sure you can come back when Labour are next in opposition and can afford a drawn out ideological contest. I’m not a cultist, and am concerned about Burnham being more of the same, but *in government* if 322 MPs don’t see a better alternative it’s not a bad thing to get on with it.

His CV does not make him a good PM, and those are standard circumstances for any Labour PM. They are both true, and irrelevant to the point you think you’re making.

I’m not arguing about who “should” do anything. Just that those countries aren’t part of NATO and so they can’t invoke article 5.
I would argue that none of those nations should ”help” in the Iran conflict because it’s a misguided shitshow entirely of Trump’s making. He broke it, he should fix it.

The geographical scope defines the membership, not which aggressors are to be defended against. Historically it is true it was intended to deter Soviet attacks on Europe, but yes, if China attacked the US and it invoked article 5 then the others would be expected to engage.

That’s exactly the point. NATO is a defensive alliance. Afghanistan was a response to an ally being attacked (on 9/11) and the US formally invoking article 5.

Vídeos regularly freeze. I don’t know I it’s just buffering but there’s no visual indicator and they never restart. I also occasionally get the sound continuing when exiting a video and the only way to stop it is to quit the app.
