Just returned from a lovely visit to the Purdon Conservation Area. It's a area full of gorgeous orchids. We hit the peak, when countless flowers were in bloom. It was definitely a hidden gem!

Sunny day today 😎

Our panels were producing lots of power today. Batteries are fully charged. I charged all the things, did laundry, and more. Still sent 25 kWh of excess power to the grid.

Back from a backpacking trip. The weather was fall-like. Cool with rain, but that's OK. No bugs, no crowds, crisp air - dreamy!

We did one more shorter hike in a pine forest on the way home. It was almost spiritual with cool mist and deafening quiet.

A rare pause during the zoomies to capture this photo of a Marten.

It was -31°C overnight. With the sun up for a few hours, it made it up to about -11°C, so we were all very happy to have some warmth and sunlight.

A Pine Marten, paused briefly to take a breath after running very fast all over the place. Its fur is an interesting mix of orange, black, and brown. Its face is much lighter with a lot of white, and almost yellow. Its eyes, nose, and points on its ears are dark - looks like black. If you look closely, you can see its cute but murdery teefs poking out.
