@chrisnelson.bsky.social Hi Chris, bit of a longshot here - but I'm wondering if you have any idea when this interview with David Berman was published? I'm quoting it in my thesis and could use a hand with referencing if possible. Many thanks.

Grateful to be living in a lovely (and completely new to me) city; small enough to be known and yet big enough not to be claustrophobic. E.g: I have caught one bus in the last four months - and drive the car so scarcely that I have forgotten what most of the buttons do. Fifteen minute city, irl.

What else, in this little world, is going on? Well: wedding planning continues at pace. Flowers/photographer/suit. And, most importantly, we have booked our (suitably indulgent) honeymoon. Also, I'm halfway through my Masters Degree. I like most of what I'm writing and most of what I'm reading too.

Last year, there was a lot of time and effort invested into making sure that our new place had an office room. Four months later, said office room has been overtaken by two newly-adopted kittens. They are completely brilliant and completely adorable. But they are not very helpful, organisationally.

@philippeauclair.bsky.social Hey Philipppe, is there a French equivalent idiom to "walking the tightrope" when a player is on a booking? Asking for an article I'm writing. Thanks v much

@bryansgunn.bsky.social Any chance you'd hop on a video call for half an hour to talk about your beautiful videos? Would love to interview you. Let me know.

Pure barista-core from me today. T-shirt tucked into suit trousers, trucker hat on my head. "Samosa Club Berlin" sticker on the back of my laptop. Oh, and I'm working as a barista. It's quiet, thus the tweet.

So much Musk-lore is too dangerous/scary to really laugh at. But thank god we'll always have Cybertrucks. (And the people who bought them).

The northernmost record store in the world is in the Arctic Circle, at the top of Norway. The southernmost is at the bottom of New Zealand's South Island. As of about five minutes ago, it is my life's ambition to write a travel book visiting different record shops, journeying between the two.

There's a much, much more interesting article to be written on the Gatekeeping Of Guinness. It's mad to see how many folk portray one of the best known drinks in the world as some secret, underground ritual.

All I have to add to the current WFH discourse is this -

My girlfriend is cuddled up under my shoulder watching The Elephant Man and our cat is asleep on my lap. I am working on the laptop. It's great.

Incredibly cool that this exists. Angela Carter reviews Bob Dylan in 1966.

Beautiful venue, interesting talk. @manchestermill.bsky.social and Kath Viner at John Rylands Library.

Also - came home with a complimentary bookmark. It doesn't get better than this.

Finally getting around to reading some HST, as is a rite of passage for any white male writer in their mid-20's. The surprising thing is how bloody good it is! Most of the essays in here are worlds more interesting than the self-indulgent excess that I'd expected. Lovely clear sentences too.
