A service I recently cancelled because I couldn't continue using it without downloading another freaking app called me wanting to know why.

Quit making apps mandatory. I'm at a stage in life where I feel like I've learned enough to happily live it with the skills I've got. Even for products & […]

Kim is marshalling at the 22nd #Waverley Lakes #parkrun today. I'm (Adam) running it.

It's the longest parkrun streak I've had of 22 consecutively and managed to go to everyone so far (first one by accident).

Only found out that wearing a tutu is a thing for […]

Danke!

You may know we like a #parkrun. Both of us (we're a husband & wife team) run and volunteer regularly for our local one.

You may also know the billionaire sponsored hate group "Women's Sports Union" (note: they want to regress women's sports and there's […]

Officially, the water industry in England is regulated. Practically, it's unregulated. There's no difference between what it does under the eye of the Environment Agency and what it would do if the EA did not exist. The EA is completely useless, by design. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

August Bank Holiday in England & Wales on Monday.

That makes tomorrow our last despatch day of the month. We don't send out #Coffee that could sit in the post for a few days.

Order https://roastinghouse.co.uk before tomorrow morning if you want freshly roasted coffee this month.

Our plans for #solar powered #Coffee roasting in 2027.

TL;DR: We’re prioritising solar powered roasting for 2027. It will require some small changes to how we operate but service remains the same. Aim is for 100% solar but winter will provide challenges […]

6 weeks or so since the installation of the #solar panels and we’ve crossed the threshold of 0.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions reduced. We only have a modest array that mostly clears our daily usage (in summer, in a heatwave). That feels like quite a difference to me. We […]

Barra Organics in #Sheffield sent us a image of their latest board outside their shop advertising our coffee they are stocking.

They reopen on Tuesday (closed Sunday & Monday) but give them a visit if you're close by https://maps.app.goo.gl/YdfAK6V8c5TJFf9S8

This iconic Fabian Todorovic cartoon is still one of the best I’ve seen at illustrating the remarkable amount of space we surrender to cars, leaving little space left for everyone and everything else. The text added later makes the bonus point that many drivers still manage to complain about it.

Released a new article yesterday which took a surprising amount of calculations. It has led us to reconsider our deliveries by #ulev. Have a read.

If you're in Sharrow, #Sheffield take a look at Barra Organics. We've just dropped some more #organic #Coffee off there you can buy.

Lots of other quality produce too. Get a veg box, the funky squashes & gourds coming in to season.

It seems to me that "dropping a bombshell" by suddenly supporting new oil and gas is what counts for Dale Vince. By no means the first time he's taken a poorly-evidenced position that generates a lot of publicity. I see him as multi-millionaire self-publicist first, environmentalist a distant second

In a park close to me I’ve witnessed several tall 100 year old trees lose major boughs this year. The collapses have left huge scars in the main vertical stem and have in some cases brought down further boughs as tons of wood fell from a […]

Do I know anyone that might be able to help me get some worn out sails or rope on the island?

(I'm not looking for advice on who to contact to ask (e.g. I've tried UKSA etc...), I'm looking for someone that has the contact already)

#nottingham peeps.

Does an indie #cycle #courier company exist in the city (like Feral Express in Sheffield)?

We're weighing up ever gram of carbon in our operations and this would be a solution to consider to reduce them. A search doesn't yield any results but we didn't know about Feral […]

What's #worldofwarcraft like right now?

I have a weird inclination to play on my day off.

I played from 2004 until about 2011 with Cataclysm. Took a long break but came back for Dragonflight and then mostly played Classic.

Early 2024 will be the last time I played.
