If organizers thought I was going to advocate for the Protect College Sports Act after an appeal from Nick Saban, they have even more seriously misjudged if they thought I would be more likely after getting the same message from Deion Sanders

Neighbors tell me they are waiting to apply to be mailed a ballot until there is greater certainty. That's a mistake. The court cannot make it any easier for your local elections officials to get you a ballot than at present. They can only make it harder. Sooner is better than later. No matter what.
BREAKING: The Trump administration is back at the Supreme Court with a request to lift the latest block on the U.S. Postal Service plan for President Trump’s attempt to restrict mail voting for the midterms. This comes after a judge in Boston replaced an earlier block that SCOTUS was reviewing

Pete Hegseth, who covers himself in crusade tattoos and keeps talking about crusading, makes an excellent crusader, in that he keeps killing Muslim civilians and losing wars in the Middle East by being an incompetent loser.

Minnesota voters should have an early-voting strategy this year, and to help I made this FAQ. Feedback/questions encouraged. It’s aimed at Democracy Defense trainers who are informing/organizing voters, but we want everyone to do this work & uphold voting rights! docs.google.com/document/d/1...

I’ve been a member of the same suburban mainline church my entire adult life and the vibes have *changed*. There was a vibe shift when Philando was murdered (we’re across the street from St. Anthony PD) and another after George Floyd. I thought those were sea change, but OMS was another level. 1/?
I may have told this story but: went to a suburban mainline church for a legal observer training at peak surge. 1200 people there. Astounding. But the amazing part was a dozen or so elder church ladies - the sort who wore wigs and dressed nicely for everything there - furious & ready to throw down.
I am convinced certain segments of elected officials, political pundits and media folks don’t have a clue how riled up nice Minnesota church folks still are about Metro Surge. Huge miscalculation by Craig and her staff.

She won 60 percent of the fucking vote, that’s not a flank that’s center-cut
Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan’s decisive U.S. Senate victory gives progressives another major win in a Democratic primary and adds Minnesota to a growing list of places where voters have embraced the party’s left flank.

At my polling place we set out several tables/chairs for people to sit down and vote. In addition to the people with mobility issues that you would expect to use them, they're used a lot by people with younger children who want to see what's going on and be involved but can't see into the booth
I have to say that having our picture be the poster child for record primary turnout has been a shining moment I didn’t expect. Proud to be teaching the next generation of voters how to exercise their rights.

My first thought when Tina Smith announced her retirement was to hope Peggy wanted the job. I was excited to vote for her yesterday and look forward to voting for her in November

Don’t hesitate to come to the polls; DOJ monitors will be outside the 100-foot zone, you don’t have to talk, you also don’t have to freak out, if you see them talking to anyone before they vote (they can only do so after) or engaging otherwise, tell the precinct head judge. We’re trained to help.
“Our office is fully prepared to protect and defend your right to vote,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “Any reports of threats, harassment, or intimidation directed at voters or election workers will be reviewed and, if appropriate, prosecuted.”

Remember Minneapolis at -20F. We are bigger, braver, and stronger.

After Friday’s hail storm, I’m really glad to have the No Solicitors sign on the door. I’ve actually seen several walk halfway up the sidewalk, see the sign and turn around

I would also like the Democrats to stop just ceding the Republican framing of everything that matters

we can't be the party of "nothing matters except tax cuts" when teachers have to buy school supplies with their own money and no one under 40 will ever be able to buy a house

Sam and I are the same age, so I feel this hard
I feel like the whole first half of my life was about the US never getting involved in sustained armed conflicts because everyone was terrified of another Vietnam War, and the second half of my life has been an endless competition to see who can pull off the worst reenactment of the Vietnam War.

My first adult job was in Minneapolis at a large downtown hotel. You could closely track employee tenure with refugee waves. Vietnamese, Hmong, Nepali, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Bosnian, etc.
Should go without saying but it is appalling how racist the Portland Maine operation is. Obviously it is All rabid, lawless racial profiling and militarized barbarism, but there are about seven people who live in Portland right now. There is no reason to do a federal invasion of it except that it…
