I'm just curious if others who pants their stories have that "these are the points and beats I want in my story, and as long as how I get there makes sense thematically and in the story and for the characters, then it doesn't matter what I do along the way" way of writing

And I have another story where I have no written outline and just know I want to hit certain plot beats with no clean cut way I'm making myself get to those beats.
I'll go back later and see which story makes more sense and which is better written by my personal standards

I ask this because I'm trying to find if I'm a better plotter or a better pantser. I have one project that I outlined and I'm trying to stay as close to the outline as I can while still letting my creative wings stretch and am allowed to go away from the outline as long as I hit the story beats
