It seems that, from a consumer point of view, a single supplier is best here. One place to get everything.

Oh yes. The music was great. My favourite song was "The Battle of Pelennor Fields" sung by Oz Clarke. Yes. That Oz Clarke.

But the font in all caps on the background does make it look like the cover of an original Mr Men book.

[Insert obvious Anakin/Padme meme that I can't be bothered to generate here]

Even more so when so-and-so campaign group wants it listed. "Right, you wanted this, you cough up to keep it in good shape".

I've often thought that any listing should be accompanied by a specific endowment (or contribution to a national endowment), the proceeds of which can be used for the maintenance of the listed building (or listed buildings in general).

Cue the BBC wondering why this week's episode does better than normal as Jay's followers listen to it to find out why he wants to use the term "piss wizard".

There is, of course, the Stopped Clocks website (stoppedclocks.org) documenting non-functional public clocks across the UK. I agree that it would be nice to see them working, but am not always sure the work is the best use of money.

When would you wear it if you got one?

The GCSE English sylabus is just awful (or was when I did it). It doesn't help that you have to hit me round the head with subtext for me to notice it so literary analysis was...a problem.

"Too late!" they cried. Close of nominations has passed. There is no way to withdraw now.

As do I. The one I know has an equally unusual middle name.

I'll have to read the speech when the report of proceedings eventually comes out, by which time I will, inevitably, have forgotten I want to read it.

This is one thing I feel the FJR should just allow (unless the church has a roof where it wouldn't work such as thatch). There are acres of south facing roofs on churches begging to be covered in solar.

It looks rather foreboding with those shadows.

I think he wins whatever happens. If no one serious stands, the establishment is running scared, if they stand and he loses, he's the victim, if he wins against a proper candidate, well that just gives him legitimacy.

I was going to ask. It seems odd that two people like this would turn up in the discourse one day after the other.
