Hand-coded websites + AI automations for Rochester, NY small businesses. Lighthouse 95+ scores, sites live in days. Free website + Google Business Profile audit → rocwebtech.com
A static site doesn't slowly rot the way a page-builder site does after two years of plugin updates piling up. The structure stays put; the code just sits there working. Nobody markets that part, but it's most of what you're paying for.

If you've been putting off replacing a slow or dated site, a 20-minute discovery call is the actual first step, not a pitch deck. Free, no obligation. Worth doing before the fall rush hits?

SWJ Construction needed a site that could carry a full gallery of project photos without tanking load time. Static generation handles that natively, no CDN plugin or page-speed subscription bolted on afterward.

Meta descriptions are still one of the cheapest local SEO wins on the table. Most Rochester business sites either skip them entirely or stuff the business name in three times. Write one sentence that answers what the searcher actually wants to know.

4th Gen Mechanical's rebuild came back with Lighthouse at 97 and a homepage where the phone number is the first thing you see, not buried in a footer. Where does your number sit on your own site right now?

The website is the product. Automation, like review requests or lead intake, is something I add on top for clients who need it, never the headline. What's more useful to you right now: a faster site or automated follow-up?

LCP under 2.0 seconds, CLS under 0.05. Those numbers come from removing the moving parts most sites carry: no database query on page load, nothing client-side blocking the first paint. Static generation just doesn't have those failure points to begin with.

A build week here: day one is a discovery call and page structure, the middle is the build with the owner watching it come together, the end is performance testing before deploy. No three-month agency timeline. Longest a web project has dragged on for you?

"Web design Rochester NY" is a small search, and most agencies chase "near me" instead and ignore it. I build for Rochester first, with Syracuse and Buffalo as markets I'm growing into next. Where are you searching from?

Curious how your current site actually performs? I run a free site audit by hand: Lighthouse scores, Core Web Vitals, what's actually slowing you down. 24-hour turnaround, no obligation. rocwebtech.com/audit

A site built on a page builder is rented, not owned. Miss a subscription payment and the whole thing can disappear. Every site I build in Next.js ships as code you own outright, no monthly platform fee attached to keep it alive.

I'm the only developer touching your codebase. No account manager, no hand-off to a junior dev partway through. You get a direct line to whoever actually wrote the code. Better or worse than working with an agency, in your experience?

No database, no server render. Every page I build ships as pre-generated static HTML. That's the actual mechanism behind a 95+ Lighthouse score, not a marketing line. What's actually slowing your site down: a database call, an oversized bundle, or unoptimized images?

Which towns does your site actually name? A generic local playbook does not know that Webster, Penfield, Pittsford and Brighton are four separate searches, so we build a real page for each one. Local means naming places.

Plenty of the sites we audit still ship images at full camera resolution. Then the fonts load late and shove the layout, and a phone on a weak connection gives up before the page settles. My Place Cigar Lounge scores 96 on mobile.

Build weeks run in days, not months. Most Rochester rebuilds spend that time on a prettier homepage. We spend it on the path from a search result to a phone call, because a form fill nobody follows up on is just a stored email address.

Nothing in a build week bills monthly. It opens with a discovery call, then we map structure and content before writing a line of Next.js, then you watch it come together and say what is wrong while it is still cheap to change.

Having a listing is not local SEO. Most owners claim the Google Business Profile once and never open it again. The ones who show up keep name, address, phone and hours identical everywhere. Inconsistency is what sinks a ranking.

100 on Accessibility, SEO and Best Practices is a normal result rather than a trophy, and the free audit exists to show you which of those three your site is missing today. No charge attached. Where do you think yours lands?

A webhook fires the moment a job gets marked complete. From there the review request goes out, the follow-up schedules itself, and the lead record updates without anyone opening a spreadsheet. Site and plumbing ship in the same week.

SWJ Construction shipped with real job-site photos. Stock imagery is the contractor-site default. We cleaned the real shots to portfolio quality and put the estimate request where a thumb lands. See the build at rocwebtech.com.

The cheapest site is usually the most expensive one you own. You subscribe, the platform changes its terms, the templates break, and you pay to rebuild what you already bought. We hand-code in Next.js. The work is at rocwebtech.com.

We open contractor sites around Rochester that look fine and convert nothing. The phone number is an image, the service area is one footer line, and the contact form emails an address nobody checks. Finished is not the same as working.
August 17, 2026 at 2:15 PM
Automated checks run before anything reaches production. The old way was emailing files and hoping. Ours is GitHub version control, a review, then a deploy that either passes or never ships. That built the ten Rochester directories.

We gave 4th Gen Mechanical town-level pages. That is most of local search: one real page per place, carrying LocalBusiness and FAQPage schema, instead of one services page listing a dozen town names. Structure is what Google reads.
