EU:ssa pohditaan windfall-veroja energiayhtiöille, jotka tekevät suuria voittoja polttoaineiden hintojen nousulla. Jotkut maat jo itsenäisesti toteuttaneet. Suomenkin syytä olla aktiivinen.
