I come from Salem. I’ve been a professional intuitive for 25 years. I do moon rituals and embrace the river as my favorite goddess. And I really, really hate terms like “woo” and “witchy.” To me, they smack of condescension and cultural tourism.

A period of feminist-separatism may be necessary if we’re to throw over patriarchy. This is not TERF shit, I’m just done with the white cis straight males. It’s impossible to get perspective when worrying about their erections, the human organ equivalent of white fragility.

Honestly, it pains me to see so many women embrace Didion. An excellent stylist in her earlier work, yes, but a staunch anti-feminist who made repression seem—ugh, the word of the moment—chic to a generation of women afraid of their own liberation but equally afraid of seeming fuddyduddy.

A friend pointed out tonight that many more people are reporting nausea, dizziness, and headaches that are not viral in origin. (I was sick all day.) It’s the vagus nerve, she said, and she’s right. Nobody feels safe anymore.

I have to say, as a Gen Xer, it wasn’t funny to watch millennials become parents (well, a little funny) but it is really really funny to watch them reflect seriously on the pop culture in vogue in their youth. Welcome to the “you have become retro” party, kids. It happens to everyone.
