I really think the media's refusal to stay focused on this plainly obvious fact has been detrimental to shutting him down. It's narratively unsatisfying for Trump to just be an idiot, but it's the truth. Speculating about supposed hidden goals behind it just fuels the myth of his competence.

He clarified on Reddit that absolutely none of the book is AI-generated, he just asked an AI for general advice on how to merge two chapters: www.reddit.com/r/nerdfighte...

Honestly, while the criticism was warranted on some of his AI use, the reaction has become very overblown.

In my humble opinion it doesn't seem to me like coders are going anywhere for a while. The job is changing now that tools like Claude Code are too useful to ignore, but I don't think companies who try cutting their team size down because of AI are going to have a great time.

I think you can say a lot of bad things about what NATO has done as a military force, but it's also a big part of why we stopped counting the number of world wars so I feel like continuing to have it is still overall in the plus column.

Computers also play chess totally differently from humans, in a way that's way less interesting. A computer can consider millions of positions in a second. Magnus Carlsen definitely cannot, so he needs to understand at a deep level how chess WORKS in a way that Stockfish probably doesn't.
