ig im trying to say the gun isn't in their hands, it's in the hands of whoever has the money in whatever contract arrangement a studio is in, the review sort of performance metric stuff is always there to justify treating employees terribly. reviews can correlate 2 good sales but it isn't causal
September 11, 2026 at 12:13 AM
it's tough cuz on the other side of it an inflated review's like participating in a pump n dump, you're just selling out your audience cuz of vague threats made under the guise of the market meant primarily to deflate labor negotiating power. imo always best to just b honest & develop ur voice.

having thought abt it more, obviously they're just mad the structure of the website is being used to confront them rather than in service 2 their own entertainment / position. rules for thee. their having power turns that into permission structure for a fetishized self victimization too. unhealthy!!

him thinking that pile-ons are somehow antithetical w this platform is crazy. the structure of this website literally facilitates pile-ons. scrolling feed, short messages, easy to reply to others, all replies are given their own little place. the twitter style is literally pile-on social media.

i don't think BART's fare gates answered those questions at all? pt of the lightrail isn't to make money via fare, from a city gov pov it's to facilitate free flow of commerce via people using the lightrail. have seen nothing about tax revenue within sf out of this, would be too soon for it even.
May 8, 2026 at 4:25 AM
i mean, from a government perspective it's more complicated than just that it's costing us x amt of dollars. have to look at the externalities, does it benefit the flow of commerce, does it help people get to work who don't pay fares, would it be detrimental to commerce to enforce. tax revenue etc.

ah wow the compression/artifacting on the first one is gruesome. oh well

i always thought that it was always being wrong even when you're right, like... (i don't know you well enough to finish the joke politely. but i'm sure you can imagine)

gotta be more schmittian than the schmittians to beat the schmittians at their own game. MY enemy. pretty hurtful stuff to be coming from ostensible allies. people really just forget that ppl online are ppl too.

would even go so far as to say that if we rly dug into it that a grocery store makes more money when some foods are stolen, by virtue of the manner in which they're subsidized, than they do when people starve in the streets. a person living means more taxes, food stamps, subsidies, etc etc etc
April 25, 2026 at 6:15 AM
i think i'd say that the fruits in a grocery store don't really belong to anyone? one of the consequences of our interconnected abstract postharvest infrastructure / the modern market economy means there's no real "owner" for most of the things that are sold. who does it harm? well, no one? 1/2
April 25, 2026 at 6:13 AM
the backlash to ur statements r kinda crazy. it's like, ur not allowed to take speculative & revelatory positions, you must resign yourself to a vulgar empiricism which confuses the model for the world it attempts to overlay. obviously people don't motivate themselves w a "I want to be evil..!!!".

things'd be better if they lived in computers tbqh, at least then they'd be interacting with more real people than in their pmc suburban theme parks. shit even bots r realer than whatever impression of their neighbors they've got.

the empire of cotton's the closest thing that comes to mind, though it focuses on cotton in particular, not quite a general history but very enlightening
April 5, 2026 at 9:56 PM
you're saying something completely different than the other person's saying. yes, 9/11 was bad, yes, despite that it is something that is a direct consequence of american military action overseas. it was entirely "deserved". there's nothing contradictory here.

i think actually the words were made up before the symbols. i don't think we really know what the symbols are making up yet
April 1, 2026 at 11:06 PM
i think it's a big reason why old lyric genres feel sort of dated when read yea, its a v textual genre now which means you're also doing some visual art, visual grammar's now imp, a line break is much more meaningful than before and rhyme and consistent meter become less helpful for affecting ppl

i think it's just classic castration anxiety, recognizing the near horizon that is the 'other' being equal subjects that can make decisions on their own without coercive structural forces in the white mans favor. manifesting in like one of the more obvious places they fear to lose control/privilege.
