Revisited the NYT dialect map tool since folks are posting such all over my skyline.

Tickled to find that they narrowed down the region I've spent the most time in (Northeast Texas).

Weird vibes this morning, so I'm diving into my listening libraries. First up, ATCQ's Midnight Marauders.

I was five when this album originally came out, living in rural (deeply rural, like imagine where trail rides start) North East Texas. Didn't hear it until college.

Behind the picture: I had just been accepted to University of Arizona, making the decision to leave my continued appointment at Virginia Tech. It was the first May of the pandemic. In the years prior, I had been fighting a chronic EBV infection with recurring complications. Surgery and a pneumonia shot set me up for 2020. I had in this picture just recovered from the flu type A. Working from home was the first rest I'd had in years. Selfie of OP in 2026. Though wearing a visible back brace, they look healthier from the inside out with clearer skin and a big smile. They wear purple and turquoise chromatic cat eye glasses. They hold a yellow ceramic mug with cherry stained fingers. Since 2020, OP went through a divorce, long-covid, four cross country moves, a disabling spine injury, a couple toxic relationships, a friend break-up, and a period of no-contact and reconciliation with family. They came out of the closet as queer for the fourth time and as gender nonconforming for the first time (out loud). OP is fully dependent on the mercy of friends and family while they heal, and yet they are visibly happy.
