Our documentary focusing on thriving with schizoaffective disorder is now live.

Without director Glenn Holsten from @freshfly-films.bsky.social & Gabe Nathan, founder of OC87 Recovery Diaries, this wouldn't have been possible.

We want to inspire, motivate, & grow.

I would love to do a Psychology Today post on how to recover when you dont have family support, but not sure who would be a good "expert" on this. Can anyone speak to this?

New interview up, this time with my DAD. My dad is awesome and has so much wisdom about parenting a child with a psychotic disorder. And he still has his sense of humor (particularly absurdity humor, which has worked well for our family). Read his advice here

New interview up with Gaby Balsells discussing sexual health while living with a mental illness. The two tend to be segregated in psychotherapy so we brought them together.

Improving science literacy requires teaching people how science actually works: that it's fallible, self-correcting, and how it's funded. This paper argues that strategy is more helpful rather than just teaching more scientific facts.

I am temporarily no longer jaded, for I got yet another very positive rejection letter saying my manuscript has serious potential but "the market is so bad right now for nonfiction," and alas, at least I have the validation even though the reality sucks. My jadedness will likely resume soon.
Wondering if I should give up any serious literary writing and just write self help books instead

Finally got my act together and fixed up my personal website! www.sofiajeppsson.com For the longest time, it was just sitting there, with almost no info. Now it has philosophy papers, my NOVEL and more. Eventually decided to have it in English, despite the novel only existing in Swedish (so far).

I don't think being a Marxist Communist is necessary to include people with disabilities. Capitalism exists so we can exercise our creative problem solving skills. It can be fun and exciting. We just need the right support for people who are non-white male.
I wish there were more support for people who have mental disabilities and come from disadvantaged backgrounds to learn about our capitalist and work environment. If we expand our definitions of what counts as work we can use much more of the population. We have an economy that values creativity.

Elizabeth Stordeur Pryor remembers navigating American racism as a child with a famous father.
“Don’t Let Nobody Ever Call You That.” Elizabeth Stordeur Pryor on Finding Confidence in Her Blackness
“Richard, she can’t stop looking at you,” my mom said, with a big silly grin. After only three months, my father was back in my life. And it was all because of the n-word. “Can’t stop looking at he…

By happenstance, I googled a philosophy colleague’s distinctive terminology today to find her papers on it. The first dozen search results were ALL her papers, or citations of them.

The AI Overview didn’t mention her once. It falsely attributed her (non-tech) concept to some tech bros at Stanford.
When utilized in literature review, LLMs consistently 1. fail to mention female authors in female-led literatures, 2. insist that men are more influential or more heavily cited when this is contradicted by objective citation counts, and 3. attribute women’s work to hallucinated male scholars.

I have had persistent vertigo for six days now. It is quite the feeling. You are always falling, just on the cusp of completing the fall, and yet you have not fallen. There is no ground that has knocked against your head. What a maddening experience to have for six days. Hope it resolves soon!

Does anyone want to publish my memoir or connect me with an agent? That'd be great lol. But just to warn you it is "too literary" for commercial agents apparently. Need someone who is aware of the literary legacy.
