Public transport infrastructure needs serious work, connecting rural communities with accessible cycling and walking routes, developing local resources so people don't need to travel as regularly. Cars should always be the last option and our focus on EV ignores many other issues.

There isn't a vehicle under 10k in that article and that is way more than I could ever afford. Also people have concerns about battery degradation in used vehicles with additional upfront costs for replacements. EV cars are one way, but Will not work for everyone.

But still completely out of reach for many and not accounting for the lack of infrastructure in working class communities. We all want to make changes but affordability is very often not discussed. A lot of information about these things come from a place of entitlement that many people don't have.

Its not something that's available to many owing to initial cost and availability of charging, especially tenants (we have no parking and no local chargers). There are so many things many of us want to adopt but low incomes mean we have to make hard choices to just get by.
