The Odyssey is yet another stunning masterwork from Christopher Nolan, delivering sheer spectacle and resonant themes in a way only he can. This is a film that must be seen on the biggest screen possible and shouldn’t be missed.

The Invite is easily Olivia Wilde’s best directorial effort to date, bolstered by a quartet of excellent performances and a great screenplay. It is a smaller film on its surface, but it is sure to resonate with audiences and is among the year’s best.

Backrooms is an incredibly assured debut from writer/director Kane Parsons and a great work of atmospheric horror. It is disorienting, strange, and quite ambitious, and certainly subverted my expectations.

Obsession is a dark, visceral, blend of psychological and supernatural horror that will have your stomach in knots from start to finish. A strong debut for writer/director Curry Barker, and easily one of the best horror films of the year.

I think we all knew Jessie Buckley was going to win Best Actress months ago, but that doesn’t make it any less satisfying. She’s one of our finest living actors and deserves this so much. #Oscars
