On April 15, 2026 Pres. Donald J. Trump told Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business that gas prices would drop. Today on Sept. 4, 2026 diesel just hit a record high of $5.85 a gallon. This is bad for the U.S. economy as 72% of domestic freight is shipped on trucks that run on diesel.
