CLASSIC. I should have been revisiting 'Amélie' way more in the last 25 years. I was reticent because:
- It's SO magical I feared it wouldn't live up to my own hype.
- It feels very long for a whimsical, relatively episodic movie.
But it's so fucking good.

I'm sad to say this is easily the weakest of the trilogy. The first two struck a great balance of an intricate murder mystery story and a fun group of characters who all played a role. This one is SO plot-heavy, and many of the characters feel non-existent. The comedy's a bit weak.

'Macbeth' is about the limits of ambition and chasing desire into self-destruction. What this movie presupposes is, "What if Macbeth was doing it all for a bunch of empty corridors?
