New — I wrote about this weird thing where people within the Republican party keep being exposed as Nazis and the party then tries to claim each one is an aberration. The facts, as I lay out here, indicate otherwise:
Republicans don’t have a Nazi problem—they are the Nazi problem
A spate of recent revelations have shown the ideologies and their adherents are one and the same.

HOLY SHIT - Tapper plays Johnson footage of GOP candidate Brandon Herrera describing moms as "cum trophies," mentions he called Nazi machine guns "the original ghetto blasters," & asks Johnson how he can support him. Mike says "he has run a very effective campaign ... that was his persona online"

Highway Star off Made In Japan is one of the greatest live performances by a rock band of the 70s. Complete nonsense lyrics but sung & played like their lives depended on it. Killer concert & album opener.

I don't think people really understand how 9/11 brought us Trump. The one thing that authoritarians can do to increase the levels of authoritarianism in society generally is to drum up as much fear as possible. 9/11 was the opportunity, and they did not miss.

The Fear-Anger-Authoritarianism Connection
The challenge to civilized persons is to acknowledge the worth of as many people as possible, even complete strangers or those who hold viewpoints quite different from their own.

You’ve gotta use AI because it’s the future. But also it’ll take your job. But also it’ll create a paradise on earth and solve most of our problems. But also it’ll end humanity soon. But also you’ll get left behind if you don’t use it right now.

All I want is the truth
Just give me some truth

Say what again?
NEW: The San Francisco City Attorney has hit Meta with a cease-and-desist telling it to stop publishing ads with AI-generated child sexual abuse.

The letter asks Meta why the same ads keep running.

Meta says the ads didn’t run in San Francisco and they are outside the city attorney's jurisdiction

ICE is trying to award a $5 million contract to create a national voter database. Not only is that not a good use of funds—it's illegal.

Administering elections is the states' job. Not the federal government and certainly not ICE.
ICE Plans to Pay $5 Million to Create National Voting Database
As part of a broader DHS surge to investigate alleged voter fraud, ICE has announced it plans to pay up to $5 million to create what amounts to a federal voter database.

Apparently people are sharing this far and wide on social media, which I think is horrible. This could cripple ICE operations. PLEASE do not share this.
