This is an indirect measure of how much hypocrisy is baked into partisan politics now, at least for the GOP. They assume that they can accuse future Dem Presidents of engaging in authoritarian actions, regardless of whether if it is true or not, while dismissing any questioning of their integrity.

Rev. Wanda Paredes “sees President Donald Trump as accountable.”

“He says, ‘I’m gonna protect the United States no matter what,’ but I just don’t see how that’s protecting the United States,” Wanda said. “My husband, what has he done wrong?”
“A single detention impacts far more than one person, [Pastor Paredes’ son] Elias noted. ‘This is something that is dividing families. It’s not just one person. It’s a network of people. It’s not just one family that gets affected.’

In his father’s case, he said, ‘It’s hundreds of people.’”
“RNS found at least 25 immigrant pastors were detained, deported or otherwise separated from their churches. While the Rev. Esdras Paredes ministers via video, his congregation sells tamales to raise funds and prays for a miracle.”
