Still losing badly in PvP but I don't even mind that, it's still a lot of fun :P

Outside that there's plenty of free fangames, iconic ones being Concealed the Conclusion, Shining Shooting Star, Phantasmagoria Trues, the games known as the Kaisendou games (didn't age too well but were very prominent 10 years ago)

Steam got some fangames with good presentation like FDF which got already mentioned but also games like Abyss Soul Lotus, Elegant Impermanence of Sakura, Ultimate Vitality of Imagination, Blue Devil in the Belvedere, Servants of Harvest Wish
Also Forlorn Souls of Wicked Past. Only a demo, still peak

Feels like it's weirdly difficult to get into something else, even casually, when you could just do the same thing you've been doing already and improve in there instead. Starting new games shouldn't be this much of a hurdle but somehow it is, it's quite strange.
