Yes this - as someone who worked in the field specialized in disability accommodations and law, I had so many folks turn me away from helping them because the idea of being labeled as disabled made them so upset even when they had a life debilitating issue(s).

“Disabled” is treated as a dirty word by a lot of people. When you call yourself disabled, non-disabled people often think you’re insulting yourself so they immediately try to downplay your disability to make you “feel better.” This is especially common with invisible disabilities.
