An audit of Utah’s June primary elections identified 70 deceased people on the voter rolls. One-third of them were listed as “active,” meaning a ballot was sent to their addresses.

None of those ballots were fraudulently cast.
As Utah’s elections chief faces federal threats, auditors again find no signs of ‘significant fraud’ in voting
As the DOJ investigates Utah's elections chief, auditors again “did not observe significant fraud” in a review of the state's most recent election.

Believe Women is an epistemological stance. It doesn't mean you assume that every single woman is telling the truth and women never lie. It means you understand that in the system that we exist in, there's much more risk and pain for women coming forward about abuse than there is anything to gain.

It’s so smoky here from the various fires that I can’t even see the complete and utter lack of snow on the mountains.

When I say no to something, I often get back a message thanking me for just responding, even negatively.

I'm guessing a lot of you have mailboxes full of invitations and requests you know you'll probably turn down but haven't pulled the trigger.

Just say no. They'll appreciate it.

A shocking new poll result: Many Americans somehow don't have a favorite dinosaur.

And only 6% give the correct answer (triceratops).

This is Molly. She was finally found a week after her human fell down a 180-foot waterfall while hiking together in New Zealand. Her human was badly injured and rescued by helicopter, but Molly was missing. A week later, Molly was found at the base of the waterfall and reunited with her human. 14/10

As the first reanalysis data become available, I think I can say with a fairly high degree of confidence that the March 2026 heatwave will go down as the most anomalously extreme heat event ever observed at any time of year in the southwestern U.S.

The Library of Congress has the largest flute collection on earth.

Dayton C. Miller, born #OTD 160 years ago, is the person to thank for that. Miller amassed nearly 1,700 wind instruments during his lifetime, donating them to the Library of Congress in the 1940s. ⬇️

The last good day on the internet?

A case can be made that it was February 26th, 2015, when llamas on the loose and Buzzfeed's "The Dress" debate pulled the world into a trance.

So how did the internet get quite so bad?

Granite from Ailsa Craig has been used to make Olympic curling stones since 1924. Below, you can see a thin section in cross polarised light.

Judge Biery signed the order with a photo of Liam and two bible verses: The first is "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The second is simply "Jesus wept."

Astonishing thing for a judge to do.
