WELL NOW, would you look at that?

A massive, 4-YEAR-LONG study of NEARLY 30 MILLION people in France found that individuals who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine had a 74% LOWER risk of death from severe COVID-19 compared to unvaccinated individuals and ZERO increased risk of all-cause mortality.

Is Stranger Things sci-fi, or is it supernatural horror? I'm aware it's a genre blending thing, but if you were reading about tv sci fi from the last 40ish years, would it feel like a clanger to be omitted?

UK folks, you can get your COVID vaccine at Boots now even if you don't qualify on age or disability grounds. If like me you couldn't find one six months ago, check again.

It is very expensive though because of course it is.

Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk:

How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.
Yet again, the Game UI Database is being scraped to the point that it's getting knocked offline. Even Cloudflare's "I'm under attack" mode isn't working.
I just wanted to create a resource for real designers. I'm getting so fucking sick of this.

A reminder: this is worse than judge-only trials because it means for many offences you will be tried not by a Circuit Judge but 2 or 3 non-lawyer volunteers given legal advice by someone else who may have no experience of practising criminal law in the CPS or a defence firm.

I was under the impression the point of Americans being allowed to carrying guns around was they could intervene when anonymous men people carry out abductions in broad daylight.

I mean, I wasn't *really*, but that's always been the claim.
ICE just kidnapped a woman at LAX airport Saturday Oct 3, 12:50AM.
A community member was able to record when several ICE goons who refused to identify themselves grabbed the woman, put her into a van and then drove off.

Look peasants, just because you spent hours + £££ getting tickets doesn't mean you can see the Bayeux Tapestry. Some people FAR richer and more important are having a look. What? No, of COURSE they didn't have to queue up or buy a ticket or pay for a hotel + train fare, only oiks like you do that

I have said before and will again: any electoral reform commission must NOT rule out a change of system BEFORE the next election if needed.

We cannot risk a minority vote handing a huge majority to any party that would take a shredder to democracy itself.

In literature you could point to emphases on style and form that distinguish the two, but that's not going to mean that an Ian McEwan novel will speak more truely to the human condition than a Warhammer 40k novel consisting on Atr'ghaar the Child-flenser's meditations on free will and mortality.

Carney greenwashes and also attempts to Indigenous-wash his pipeline, despite:

1) environmental experts making it clear his ocean conservation plan wont change the fact that this is an orca-killing project

2) Indigenous communities already sounding the alarm about insufficient consultation

The pause comes almost a year after our investigation revealed that the national average wait time for a first appointment at an NHS gender clinic in the UK is a staggering 25 years.

Wales, however, has operated a different model.

Hey @moderation.bsky.app @aaron.bsky.team is it official Bluesky policy that trans people aren't allowed to report posts that wish death to trans people as hate speech, since somebody is being threatened with suspension? Or is somebody going rogue and breaking policy to threaten a trans user?
I got an email the other morning telling me "your reports are now being muted" for reporting hate speech. Apparently they think that's offensive and it said if I didn't stop reporting I would be suspended for platform manipulation.

I was reporting hate speech suggesting trans people should die. 🤷

I'm not even sure about this, because poisoning a reviewer is also a terrible outcome for a shift at work.

In general, there are very few jobs where "poisoned someone" is not super bad actually.
If the goal was to have a good shift, then likely yes. Most people got great food. Heck, maybe even the critic did, even though he got food poisoning.

But if the goal is to get a good review, then no. No matter how good the cooking was or how many other people were satisfied, you didn’t get that.

But I don't know anything about tapes or digitisation or anything like that. I don't even know how I would play this. I don't even know if it's still in good enough condition to play.

So my question is... How?

How do I take these two tapes, this two part performance, and make the choir live again?

If attendance at a major women's conference was down 80% due to a boycott fighting against trans *inclusion*, it would be all over the Times, Telegraph, Mail etc.

This last weekend, attendance at a major women's conference was down 80% due to a boycott fighting against trans *exclusion*. Crickets.
The Labour Party’s women’s conference on 26/9/26 was an embarrassing farce, with only 200 delegates of the 1,000 normal attendance (no major unions) in protest of the Labour Party’s shameful abandonment of trans people following the legally absurd ruling of the Supreme Court in FWS in April 2025.

Really need to triple down on opposing the anti-migrant stuff.

Announce automatic, free citizenship after 2 years living here without issue. No fees, no tests, done.

Make citizenship 100% utterly irrevocable under all circumstances except completely free personal choice.

I am confused how Preply's 100% commission for trial lessons is not super super illegal?

help.preply.com/en/articles/...

At an absolute minimum it's exploitative and immoral. It also seems like it should already be flatly illegal under any minimum wage regime?

Ooh new policy.

Whenever a company spends money to discourage union formation, if the union succeeds, they have to give the same amount of money to that union immediately.

(obviously the real solution is that companies are not allowed to spend any money at all discouraging union formation, ever)

The USA - yes, Trump's one - says Covid vaccine should be universal for adults.

Hello? NHS? Is this on?
As of today, the CDC has changed (reverted) their Covid guidance to make the vaccine recommended for all people over 18. In addition to being a smart public health move, this recommendation also means insurance must cover it.
