Yes, of course McDonald’s posting about National Coming Out Day is “performative.” Nobody thinks Ronald McDonald threw the first brick at Stonewall. Nonetheless, the biggest and most influential institutions in American life performing affirmation of LGBT social and civil equality is a good thing.
That's nice and all, but much of this is performative, *especially* when corporations are cowed by shareholders and anti-LGBT+ activists. The likes of Costco who gave anti-DEI activists the middle finger should be celebrated because they stand for diversity even in the face of shouty assholes.

From a football standpoint the issue is not believing Watson is more capable than Sanders, but not bringing in competition outside of a washed vet everyone despises and a 5th round draft pick. Again, they don’t respect their fans.
While you’re correct here, the second part of the story is how low Todd Monken’s opinion is of Sanders being a starting quarterback in this league. To name such a divisive and also declining player to be the starter, speaks volumes about his confidence in the other guy.
