I've always believed in equality for all. I didn't suddenly become more liberal. I got louder about it because my country moved to the right.
This gets them elected. Then they take things down the path of fascism and oligarchy, taking away rights, causing unnecessary violence and disruption. Eventually, the people rise up and do better and reset back to a functional democracy.
