a type which has an albedo closer to 0.7, meaning it reflects much more light and reducing the size needed for us to see it. since we assumed it had a low albedo, we assumed it was much larger than it turned out to be

We originally assumed it was a lunar fragment based on its orbit and relatively similar spectra, and that has an albedo of about 0.15 (i.e., it reflects only 15% of the sun’s light, making it appear dim and large)
as it turns out, Kamo’oalewa is actually a rarer asteroid type, (1/2)

The bit that upset me funnily enough is after Kosmos-1 skipped off the atmosphere, and they said Titan’s atmosphere shrank after being in Saturn’s shadow, never happened once in 2012 or 2013 🤣

See though, we have colour images from Titan’s surface, the Huygens lander got those in 2005 iirc. I think it was mostly just to differentiate it from the orangey of Mars as an artistic choice
