I like the DSA’s passion for helping others, supporting workers, stumping for progressives and ballot props, and the joyful atmosphere at their meetings. But I’m increasingly uncomfortable being called “comrade.” I grew up in the 50s, right-wingers said comrades meant communists.

New York is now the first U.S. state to put a pause on construction, but the fight isn’t over. This EO is not as strong as the bill passed by the Legislature that is still awaiting Hochul’s signature. In the meantime, we’ll continue the fight to fully protect people and the planet from data centers.
